Ontario Compliance Checklist: What to Verify Before You Sign

Any vendor working in your building carries risk into it. Verifying documentation before signing takes twenty minutes and removes most of that exposure.

Verify these, current-dated

• WSIB clearance certificate — current, not last year's
• Commercial general liability insurance at limits your ownership requires
• WHMIS training records and available safety data sheets on site
• Criminal record checks, and Vulnerable Sector Checks for school, childcare, and care settings
• Written health and safety policy plus incident reporting procedure
• Sub-contractor disclosure — who is actually in your building at night

We provide the full package at mobilization and keep it current for the life of the account, because an expired certificate is functionally the same as no certificate.
